- The 2025 vintage began with a calm autumn, moderate temperatures and regular rainfall. The vine was able to accumulate reserves in a balanced environment, a prelude to a winter that continued along the same lines. From mid-March to the end of May, there was a period of intense and frequent rainfall and mild temperatures. This caused vigorous and homogeneous budding. The vineyard showed exuberant development, although May surprised with temperatures well above average. Summer began under a marked drought: from June to mid-September there was no significant rainfall. The first heatwave arrived in the last week of June, but it was in August that one of the most extreme episodes ever recorded in Somontano occurred. This heatwave, of unusual intensity, subjected the vineyards to severe thermal stress, accelerating ripening and testing the resistance of the vines. Given these conditions, the harvest was brought forward and began on August 11 with Chardonnay. From that moment on, the start of the campaign was dizzying. The white varieties and Merlot were harvested quickly, in an intense and continuous effort, seeking to preserve the freshness and natural acidity of the grapes and prevent the alcohol levels from skyrocketing. The harvest progressed at a great pace over the following weeks. However, on Saturday, September 20, a large storm surprised when the harvest was almost finished. The hail, of large caliber, mainly affected the last plots of Cabernet Sauvignon, partially reducing their production. The 2025 harvest was distinguished by the excellent health of the fruit and a well-defined varietal character. The grapes showed a balance between degree and acidity, with complete phenolic maturation that augurs intense wines, with good structure and a marked Mediterranean seal.
